On offer is an exceptionally rare and very beautiful skull with lower jaw of a European wolverine (Gulo gulo) from the Pleistocene era. The Gulo gulo wolverine or glutton was the largest terrestrial mustelid, belonging to the order of Carnivores, dating from the late middle Pliocene. We cannot stress enough how rare fossils of this interesting species are. These fossils belonged to an adult animal and are exceptionally rare and very beautifully preserved: there is one incisor missing on the right side, but otherwise it is in fantastic state of preservation, with many details of anatomy beautifully preserved, as seen in the images. No restoration whatsoever. Very rare piece, wonderful for the specialized collector or for university or museum collections The black-and-white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
