This fantastic and very rare tip of a tusk belonged to an adult Palaeoloxodon antiquus. This tusk tip is very well preserved, as seen in the images. Beautiful mainly brown and gold colouring. No restoration whatsoever. Much rarer than the more commonly encountered Woolly Mammoth, this good example was found in the River Rhine. The black-and-white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
