On offer is a rare and fantastic half lower jaw of a European brown bear (Ursus arctos) from the Pleistocene era. We cannot stress enough how rare fossils of this impressive species are. Most bear fossils which are offered on the market belong to cave bears, rather than the very rare brown bear. This fossil belonged to an adult animal. Although it is only a half jaw it is in a wonderful state of preservation, with one canine still attached, as seen in the images. No restoration whatsoever. Very rare piece, wonderful for the specialized collector. The black-and-white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 inch.
