Irish elk was one of the most impressive creatures to inhabit the North Sea area. Its amazing antlers could grow to enormous sizes and are among the most sought after and expensive fossils. On offer is a large portion of the cranium of this animal. The cranium is not complete (as they rarely are), but is in nice condition, and still includes one partial antler. This piece is in good state of preservation, no restoration whatsoever. The black-and-white section of the ruler in the image represents 10 cm / 3.9 in.
